Christina Basias
Brooklyn College Academy English Teacher, Google Certified Educator, Technology Coordinator, Podcast Producer and Host
Brooklyn, NY
As a passionate educator, born and educated in Brooklyn, Christina is excited to find ways to bring a global education to students who share her urban background. She is currently an English teacher, Google Certified Educator, and Technology Coordinator at Brooklyn College Academy, an Early College high school. Along with teaching advanced high school English courses, she brought Google Apps for Education to the fingertips of her school community. With the help of her administration and fellow colleagues, Brooklyn College Academy explores how to utilize the GAFE suite and technology more effectively in order to supplement staff and student interests.
Christina's interests include learning about the intricacies of Google Apps for Education more deeply and exploring/sharing best practices with ed-tech. She is a potential Ph.D candidate with a focus on technology and its balance with humanism in urban education environments. Ideally, Christina would like to help develop systems and facilitate Professional Development with ed-tech.
Christina's other projects include
- Presentations at Middle College Consortium National Conferences.
- Producing and hosting the "Teacher Talk Podcast," which can be found and listened to here: https://teachertalkpodcast.wordpress.com
